At some point the guy who owns him bought a 3D printer. Kevin now owns an unreasonable number of hats. He was not consulted about any of them.
This is the question people actually ask. Not about the hat — about Kevin.
He is a Mammotion Luba: a wire-free robotic lawn mower. There is no boundary wire buried around the yard and no perimeter to trip over. You walk the edge of the lawn once with your phone, it remembers the shape, and after that it goes out on a schedule and cuts the grass while you are doing something else.
It is not a novelty. It is a two-thousand-dollar-plus appliance that replaced a chore. That is the honest framing, and it is also why it is funny to put a tiny straw hat on it.
I cut the grass. That is the whole job.
I go out at the same time on the same days. I follow the shape of the lawn. When the battery is low I return to the dock and I charge. When it rains I wait. When someone leaves a garden hose across the yard I find it, and then we both have a problem.
Nobody has ever asked me how I would like to be dressed.
